The future looks bright for Industry 4.0 and manufacturing, with the technologies needed to support competitive and climate-neutral industrial production already available – this was a key takeaway from this year’s edition of Hannover Messe, which ran from 17 April to 22 April.
The 2023 edition of the world’s leading industrial trade fair featured over 4,000 exhibitors and welcomed 130,000 visitors from around the globe. Our Founder and CEO Raimund Klein, who spoke at the GSBF Connect event about demystifying sustainability, was one of these.
Several landmark agreements were signed at the fair, including some 30 cooperation agreements signed by Indonesia with various parties that are expected to create jobs for 80,000 people. The agreements cover investment and industrial parks, energy sustainability and transition, human resources and more; in areas including semiconductors, solar power, medical devices, waste management, Internet of Things, digital industry, and electric vehicle charging and battery systems.
Many businesses also shared innovative technologies, as well as new ways to leverage existing technologies, to enable greater operational efficiency, productivity and safety and support smarter, more sustainable manufacturing. For instance, our partner Rockwell Automation showcased its Plex Smart Manufacturing Platform, which uses Microsoft Azure to connect people and systems, automate processes, and track data from end to end.
