Framework & Tools
We support manufacturers with fundamental education and concepts of Industry 4.0
to boost confidence, reduce uncertainty, and inspire the next implementation steps.
LEAD Framework
Transforming and upgrading a manufacturing facility is not a one-off exercise. Rather, it is a continuous and iterative process.
This is encapsulated in the LEAD Framework – a circular, continuous four-step process that all manufacturers can adopt in their approach towards Industry 4.0 transformation.
1
Architect a comprehensive transformation strategy and implementation roadmap
2
Evaluate the current Industry
4.0 maturity levels of existing facilities
3
Architect a comprehensive transformation strategy and implementation roadmap
4
Deliver impact and sustain transformation initiatives

SIRI Framework
Successful transformation requires a deep understanding of future-ready manufacturing components. The SIRI Framework comprises 3 main layers including: 3 fundamental Industry 4.0 building blocks, 8 key pillars crucial for future readiness in organisations, and 16 dimensions for evaluating current Industry 4.0 readiness in the company’s factories or plants.

Assessment Matrix
The SIRI Assessment Matrix is the world’s first Industry 4.0 self-diagnostic tool, designed to balance technical rigor, usability, and relevance. 6 ascending bands are tied to each of 16 SIRI dimensions, with each band describing a specific state within that dimension. This provides a snapshot of a manufacturing facility’s current Industry 4.0 maturity level, known as the Assessment Matrix Score.
TIER Framework
To formulate effective Industry 4.0 transformation roadmaps, prioritisation is a crucial exercise as it helps companies identify business areas where improvements will generate the most value. The SIRI TIER Framework outlines 4 critical principles as part of a holistic prioritisation exercise. Manufacturers can use these principles to focus resources on activities that yield the greatest benefits.
TODAY’S STATE
Develop in-depth understanding of the company’s current Industry 4.0 maturity level.
IMPACT TO THE BOTTOM LINE
Analyse how distinct Industry 4.0 areas affect the company’s profits and identify those that can generate the greatest financial returns.
ESSENTIAL BUSINESS OBJECTIVES
Determine the business objectives that are the most critical to the company to guide the selection of relevant Industry 4.0 needs.
REFERENCES TO THE BROADER COMMUNITY
Emulate the success and learn from the mistakes of the broader manufacturing community.
Prioritisation Matrix
The Prioritisation Matrix is a company-specific, directional tool designed for management planning. It considers three key factors: cost, top key performance indicator (KPI) categories, and a company’s proximity to the industry’s best-in-class. These factors derive from four inputs aligned with the prioritisation principles of the TIER Framework.

All manufacturing companies, regardless of size and industry type, can leverage the frameworks and tools under the Smart Industry Readiness Index to understand their Industry 4.0 maturity levels and develop transformation roadmaps. We hope that after utilising the frameworks and tools, companies will feel encouraged to take a deeper dive into specific areas aligned with their own business needs.
Yes, to ensure a balance between technical robustness and usability, we partner with a network of leading technology companies, consultancy firms, and industry and academic experts to develop the frameworks and tools. In addition, we piloted tools like the Assessment Matrix and Prioritisation Matrix with small and medium-sized enterprises (SMEs) as well as multinational corporations (MNCs) prior to release.
Yes, we will continue to develop more frameworks and tools to plug existing information or knowledge gaps. We hope that this growing repository of resources will better assist manufacturers in catalysing their Industry 4.0 transformation journeys.
