Ses recherches actuelles portent sur le d\u00e9veloppement de l&#039;apprentissage automatique non traditionnel et de l&#039;ing\u00e9nierie des syst\u00e8mes d&#039;IA industrielle pour divers syst\u00e8mes industriels, notamment la fabrication avanc\u00e9e de semi-conducteurs, la fabrication \u00e9lectronique, les \u00e9nergies renouvelables, etc.<\/p>\n<p>Auparavant, il a \u00e9t\u00e9 chercheur \u00e9minent de l&#039;Ohio, titulaire de la chaire L.W. Scott Alter et professeur \u00e9m\u00e9rite \u00e0 l&#039;Universit\u00e9 de Cincinnati (UC). Il a \u00e9t\u00e9 le directeur fondateur du Centre de recherche coop\u00e9rative industrie\/universit\u00e9 (I\/UCRC) de la National Science Foundation (NSF) <a href=\"http:\/\/www.imscenter.net\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">Syst\u00e8mes de maintenance intelligents<\/a> (IMS) de 2001 \u00e0 2019. Depuis 2000, le Centre IMS a nou\u00e9 des partenariats de recherche avec plus de 100 entreprises mondiales et a \u00e9t\u00e9 d\u00e9sign\u00e9 comme l&#039;I\/UCRC ayant le plus d&#039;impact \u00e9conomique dans le rapport d&#039;\u00e9tude d&#039;impact \u00e9conomique de la NSF en 2012.<\/p>\n<p>Il a encadr\u00e9 ses \u00e9tudiants et cr\u00e9\u00e9 plusieurs start-up, dont Predictronics, via NSF iCorps en 2013. Il a d\u00e9velopp\u00e9 la m\u00e9thodologie Dominant Innovation\u00ae pour la conception de produits et services innovants. Il \u00e9tait en cong\u00e9 de l&#039;UC pour occuper les fonctions de vice-pr\u00e9sident et de membre du conseil d&#039;administration du Foxconn Technology Group de 2019 \u00e0 2021.<\/p>\n<p>Il est membre du Global Future Council on Advanced Manufacturing and Production du World Economics Council, membre du conseil des gouverneurs du Manufacturing Executive Leadership Council de la National Association of Manufacturers (NAM), du conseil d&#039;administration de MTConnect, ainsi que conseiller principal de McKinsey &amp; Co. Auparavant, il a \u00e9t\u00e9 directeur du d\u00e9veloppement de produits et de la fabrication au United Technologies Research Center (aujourd&#039;hui Raytheon Technologies Research Center) de 1998 \u00e0 2000, ainsi que directeur de programme pour un certain nombre de programmes (y compris les ERC, les I\/UCRC et les programmes de traitement et de fabrication des mat\u00e9riaux) \u00e0 la NSF de 1991 \u00e0 1998.<\/p>\n<p>Il a \u00e9t\u00e9 s\u00e9lectionn\u00e9 comme l&#039;un des 30 visionnaires de la fabrication intelligente par SME en janvier 2016 et l&#039;un des 20 professeurs les plus influents de la fabrication intelligente en juin 2020. Il a re\u00e7u le SME Eli Whitney Productivity Award et le SME\/NAMRC SM Wu Research Implementation Award en 2022.
