Mechanical Engineering Department of Maryland College Park. Hans nuvarande forskning \u00e4r inriktad p\u00e5 att utveckla icke-traditionell maskininl\u00e4rning och industriell AI-systemteknik f\u00f6r diversifierade industriella system, inklusive avancerad halvledartillverkning, elektroniktillverkning, f\u00f6rnybar energi etc.<\/p>\n<p>Tidigare var han Ohio Eminent Scholar, LW Scott Alter Chair och Univ. Distinguished Professor vid University of Cincinnati (UC). Han var grundare och direkt\u00f6r f\u00f6r National Science Foundation (NSF) Industry\/Univ. Cooperative Research Center (I\/UCRC) den <a href=\"http:\/\/www.imscenter.net\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">Intelligenta underh\u00e5llssystem<\/a> (IMS) fr\u00e5n 2001-2019. IMS Center har utvecklat forskningsmedlemskap med \u00f6ver 100 globala f\u00f6retag sedan 2000 och valdes ut som den mest ekonomiskt p\u00e5verkande I\/UCRC i NSF Economic Impact Study Report \u00e5r 2012.<\/p>\n<p>Han var mentor f\u00f6r sina studenter och utvecklade flera nystartade f\u00f6retag, inklusive Predictronics, genom NSF iCorps \u00e5r 2013. Han har utvecklat Dominant Innovation\u00ae-metodiken f\u00f6r design av produkt- och tj\u00e4nsteinnovationer. Han var tj\u00e4nstledig fr\u00e5n UC f\u00f6r att tj\u00e4nstg\u00f6ra som vice ordf\u00f6rande och styrelseledamot f\u00f6r Foxconn Technology Group under 2019-2021.<\/p>\n<p>Han \u00e4r medlem i Global Future Council on Advanced Manufacturing and Production inom World Economics Council, medlem i styrelsen f\u00f6r Manufacturing Executive Leadership Council inom National Association of Manufacturers (NAM), i styrelsen f\u00f6r MTConnect, samt senior r\u00e5dgivare till McKinsey &amp; Co. Tidigare var han chef f\u00f6r produktutveckling och tillverkning vid United Technologies Research Center (nu Raytheon Technologies Research Center) fr\u00e5n 1998-2000, samt programchef f\u00f6r ett antal program (inklusive ERC:er, I\/UCRC:er och program f\u00f6r materialbearbetning och tillverkning) vid NSF under 1991-1998.<\/p>\n<p>Han valdes ut som en av 30 vision\u00e4rer inom smart tillverkning av SME i januari 2016, och som en av de 20 mest inflytelserika professorerna inom smart tillverkning i juni 2020. Han fick SME Eli Whitney Productivity Award och SME\/NAMRC SM Wu Research Implementation Award 2022.
