About Confederation of Indian Industry (CII)

The Confederation of Indian Industry (CII) works to create and sustain an environment conducive to the development of India, partnering Industry, Government and civil society through advisory and consultative processes.

CII is a non-government, not-for-profit, industry-led and industry-managed organisation, with around 9,700 members from the private as well as public sectors, including SMEs and MNCs, and an indirect membership of over 365,000 enterprises from 318 national and regional sectoral industry bodies.

For 130 years, CII has been engaged in shaping India’s development journey and works proactively on transforming Indian Industry’s engagement in national development. CII charts change by working closely with the Government on policy issues, interfacing with thought leaders, and enhancing efficiency, competitiveness, and business opportunities for industry through a range of specialised services and strategic global linkages. It also provides a platform for consensus-building and networking on key issues.

Through its dedicated Centres of Excellence and Industry competitiveness initiatives, promotion of innovation and technology adoption, and partnerships for sustainability, CII plays a transformative part in shaping the future of the nation.

With 70 offices, including 12 Centres of Excellence, in India, and 9 overseas offices in Australia, Egypt, Germany, Indonesia, Singapore, UAE, UK, and USA, as well as institutional partnerships with about 250 counterpart organisations in almost 100 countries, CII serves as a reference point for Indian industry and the international business community.

The Confederation of Indian Industry (CII), in partnership with the International Centre for Industrial Transformation (INCIT), has embarked on a mission to accelerate India’s digital manufacturing readiness through the Smart Industry Readiness Index (SIRI). As global manufacturing rapidly transitions towards Industry 4.0, the integration of smart technologies—ranging from automation and advanced analytics to IoT and digital ecosystems—has become essential for competitiveness, resilience, and sustainability. Recognising this urgent need, the CII – INCIT SIRI CSA Training Program aims to equip professionals with the knowledge and capabilities required to support Indian industries in their digital transformation journeys.

This initiative is grounded in a globally validated framework and reflects a strategic effort to strengthen India’s position in the evolving industrial landscape. The SIRI CSA Training Program provides a structured pathway for developing certified assessors who can conduct comprehensive digital maturity assessments and guide manufacturing enterprises with internationally benchmarked transformation roadmaps. Aligned with INCIT’s global standards and supported by expert mentors, the programme seeks to build a robust pool of trained practitioners capable of advancing India’s smart manufacturing agenda across sectors. Through this effort, CII and INCIT aim to deepen awareness, expand industry adoption of readiness tools, and contribute to shaping a digitally mature, future-ready manufacturing ecosystem for the nation.

Testimonials

The COSIRI Programme has helped me develop a broader understanding of sustainability for manufacturing. It has prepared me to work with manufacturers of all sizes, industries, and regions and understanding the unique challenges manufacturers face across the globe when dealing with sustainability opportunities.

COSIRI is a unique approach to the challenges of sustainability in manufacturing. Instead of just focusing on metrics and measurements, COSIRI helps companies develop a holistic understanding of how ready they are to move from metrics to mindset.

Steven Moskowitz

Principal, Industry4ward

The SIRI Programme was very helpful, efficient, and also very insightful. Our trainer was knowledgeable and energetic. In addition to covering the planned subjects, he made a lot of room for studying cases and answering questions brought up by participants.

I feel that I have gained a lot about the spirit of SIRI’s design and INCIT’s approach. I am excited to do my first Official SIRI Assessment, and I feel very comfortable knowing that I can adapt to any real life scenario that comes in my way and that I can rely on competitent support from INCIT if and when I need it.

Mehmet Gençer

Professor, Izmir University of Economics

After attending the COSIRI Programme (Training), I feel that I have gained a lot, not only in terms of knowledge and skills, but also in terms of personal growth and emotional communication.

Through this training, I have learned a lot of knowledge about the basic concepts of sustainability, the framework structure of COSIRI, and the evaluation methods which have important guiding significance for my future work. I have also mastered various COSIRI Assessment skills and communication methods that will help me become a qualified Certified COSIRI Assessor.

Yin Jia

Senior Engineer, Yokogawa Electric (China) Co., Ltd.

The COSIRI Programme is a well-structured course with comprehensive and practical materials, providing me with knowledge and skills needed to confidently guide manufacturing companies on their sustainability journey.

Beyond just addressing the GHG emissions in manufacturing operations, it includes a practical checklist with realistic strategies to ensure sustainability becomes a core part of a company’s culture. It’s ideal for those who need a focused starting point for immediate impact in sustainability practice.
